Driving into the Future: Auburn’s Electric Vehicle Showcase Event

Last Monday Drive Electric Alabama Chapter, the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, The City of Auburn, Energy Alabama, Alabama Power, Auburn University Office of Parking Services, The Office of Sustainability, and Siemens EV Charging Team hosted the second annual Electric Vehicle Event. Local electric vehicle owners gathered to showcase their cars, scooters, and bikes to over 100 members of the community.

The War Eagle Motorsports club designed ad built this EV.

The student group, War Eagle Motorsports, showcased their entirely electric race car. Primarily comprised of engineering students, the team designs and builds a race car each year and then competes in races across the country and the world! Historically, the club built combustion engines, but switched to electric in the last few years.
