Interactive Sustainability Map of Auburn University Created in Capstone Class

By May 5, 2021No Comments

Each spring semester small groups of students in the SUST 5000: Senior Capstone in Sustainability apply the principles and concepts of sustainability to a project that addresses sustainability at Auburn. This year Courtney Eagle, Laine Harrington, Evanthi Hettiaratchi, Andrew Holley, & Matthew Manning developed a sustainability map of campus.

The interactive map highlights climate, buildings, energy, grounds, transportation, waste, dining, water, and social/wellness.

The map provides images, descriptions, and other information on forty-one physical features of Auburn University’s campus related to sustainability. Each location is also tagged with the relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which is of particular interest to Auburn because of our membership in the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Check out the map on Google Maps  to learn about resources for:

  • outdoor wellness,
  • stormwater management sites,
  • LEED-certified buildings,
  • transportation resources,
  • dining services, and more!
