Curious about sustainability? Want to learn how to make your organization or life more intentional and environmentally friendly?

My name is Cole Bedics, and I am the Engagement Coordinator for the Auburn University Office of Sustainability. This new position was created to increase understanding and assist the Auburn family with integrating sustainability into their practices to improve our world and lives.

It is my job to be a sustainability resource for you! If you are looking for opportunities to get involved in local and university projects or just want to learn more about what sustainability can offer you, I’m here to help.

Potential activities include:

  • Guest speaking
  • Campus Bike Tour
  • Recycling competition
  • Movie night
  • Environmental education during a fly-fishing lesson
  • Workshops on how to improve your personal sustainability
  • How to make your events more sustainable

We are looking to help the Auburn community find their “why”; a reason to seek to improve and community. Sustainability can touch all areas of our lives. Whether you are involved in food systems, development and planning, or any other field, there is an opportunity for you to be involved.

Sustainability is not just about being environmentally friendly. As expressed by the sustainability compass, which demonstrates how sustainability links multiple systems including the economy, well-being, society, and nature.

We want to connect with you, provide hands-on experience with ideas and practices that can help you and this world, and together continue to create the future we all want.
