Transportation To The Region

Greyhound Bus provides nationwide and intercity bus service to and from Auburn and Opelika, Alabama.

Groome Transportation offers reservation-based shuttle service with over 15 round trips daily between Auburn/Opelika and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, with five Auburn pickup locations and service to Montgomery.

Birmingham, Alabama is 109 miles away and served by Greyhound.

Getting Around Auburn

Biking

For a low-carbon and healthy way to get around try biking. All bikes parked on campus must be permitted through Parking Services.

A helmet and lock provide safety for you & your bike. Showers for bikers can be found around campus.

Bike racks on all Tiger Transit buses make it easy to combine sustainable transportation modes.

The Bike Shop run by Auburn Outdoors can help you keep your ride in road-ready condition.

Biking at Auburn features information on rules, safety, rentals, and campus and community resources connected to biking.

On Campus

Auburn’s Late Night Smart Ride Program with Uber ensures students can safely travel from campus to their on- or off-campus residence. Students receive a $10 discount per ride within the service areas.

The AU Parking app informs users of real-time parking availability for select lots on campus. Valid AU Parking Permit holders can charge their electric vehicle up to four hours for free at any one of the 5 on-campus charging station locations.

The jAUnt golf cart service provides free transport within central campus for students/employees with any medical condition. Request for service must be approved by the Office of Accessibility prior to scheduling. Call 334-707-2643.

Lee-Russell Public Transit provides Auburn students, faculty, and staff who require curb-to-curb transportation due to an accessibility issue free transport within the Auburn/Opelika area. Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours by calling 334-749-9092.

The Night Security Shuttle Service offers rides between on-campus destinations 7 days a week from 6 PM – 7 AM when classes are in session. Call 334-844-7400.

Tiger Transit buses provide students bus service to destinations on and off campus. 20+ lines operate M – F from 7 AM – 8 PM (for most lines). The app ETA Spot provides easy to recognize color-coordinated routes to help with identifying route information. A special Friday Evening Shopping Shuttle runs from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM.

Employees can ride the University Shuttle to/from designated on-campus Tiger Transit spots, as well as select locations beyond campus such as the Fisheries Center, the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center. Call 334-844-8600.
