AU Facilities Management Landscape Services is looking for 20 volunteers to help participate in a City/Extension partnered project to provide free native trees for property owners who remove invasive tree species. They have already removed over 100 exotic invasive trees on campus and need help to plant the new 100 native trees. These include Southern Sugar maple, Black tupelo, Mexican Plum, and Cherrybark oak! This event is under guidance provided by Arbor Day for Auburn University’s Tree Campus – Higher Education designation.
They will meet in the cul-de-sac of Extension Loop behind the District Energy Plant on the west side of campus. Shovels, gloves and trees placed at adequate socially-distanced spacing will all be provided. If you are interested, please contact Alex Hedgepath (abh0010@auburn.edu)
