Registration is open for the Rape Aggression Defense\, or R.A.D. program. It teaches women self-defense techniques and risk reduction strategies to help improve their chances of escaping a threatening situation. Certified R.A.D. instructors from Campus Safety and Security and community law enforcement agencies will conduct the course. The goal is to enhance the options of self-defense so they become viable considerations. R.A.D. is a 12-hour course broken up over two days. Participants and instructors will be in special protective gear during simulations. The dynamic simulation empowers participants by teaching them the essentials of fighting back and fighting back effectively.
