The Kreher Preserve and Nature Center needs your help to remove invasive plants in order to prepare the area for an upcoming Tree Planting Event.
Volunteers will learn why invasive plants need to be removed, learn to identify invasives, and then work alongside trained individuals to properly remove common invasives including privet, Elaeagnus, Callery pear, chinaberry, mimosa, and other common problem plants.
Volunteers should meet at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center parking lot. Work will begin at 1:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM, however, people can come and go as they please. Signing up ahead of time is appreciated, however, registration day of is accepted as well.
Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and gloves. Extra tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring pruners, lopping shears, and small pruning saws if available.
