Grant Writing Basics Workshop

This one-day grant writing workshop is brought to you by the Alabama Watershed Stewards Program in Extension. Led by Kimberly Richardson Consulting, the workshop ucationwill cover researching grants, request for proposal selection, project narrative development, budget creation, program cultivation, partnership development, and long term success planning. It includes handouts, resource materials, and small group exercises.

This workshop is intended for anyone interested in learning about the basics of grant writing, including environmental groups, watershed groups, nonprofits, or small organizations hoping to find funding for special projects. Knowledge in this workshop will be transferable to other types of grant applications.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand how to seek out and evaluate requests for proposals
  • Search for funding opportunities in Alabama and beyond
  • Develop narrative proposal components
  • Develop a budget narrative and justification
  • Evaluate the long-term success and sustainability of your project proposals
