DESCRIPTION:Dr. Medina-Elizalde is a geoscientist who studies climate evolution with a focus on the thermal and hydrologic reconstruction of tropical regions and their sensitivity to greenhouse gases. In this talk\\, he will describe questions surrounding anthropogenic climate change\\, examine the evidence that answers them\\, and discuss relevant short and long-term climate change impacts that will continue shaping our future if greenhouse gases remained unabated. SUMMARY:Hands On Nutrition & Pop-Up Farmer's Market
DESCRIPTION:Auburn Parks and Recreation will host the second annual Hands on Nutrition\\, which is designed to teach participants more about nutrition\\, such as how to grow their own produce and use it in cooking.\nFrom 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.\\, a pop-up farmer’s market will be held in the lobby of the Harris Center. Many local markets\\, such as Crepe Myrtle\\, George’s Farmer’s Market and Hornsby Farms\\, will have their produce and products available for purchase and guests will be able to ask questions. \nFollowing the farmer\'s market\\, an info session with guest speakers will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. A representative from George’s Farmer’s Market will talk about the Whole30 diet and how to make delicious food following those guidelines. Tia Gonzalez\\, manager of the AU Medicinal Gardens on campus\\, will talk about the many benefits of turmeric and ways to incorporate it into your diet. The Auburn University College of Agriculture will have a unique presentation on pollinators and their impact on healthy eating. Finally\\, a nutritionist from East Alabama Medical Center will discuss diet and healthy eating habits.
