The focus of the award-winning lab ranges from assessing how fire management affects habitat for several birds that inhabit coastal marshes and upland pine forests to performing hands-on activities that benefit Red-cockaded Woodpecker\, Brown-headed Nuthatch\, and Frosted Elfin (an imperiled butterfly). \nHeather Levy is an avian biologist in the Stoddard Bird Lab at TTRS.
