DESCRIPTION:The Auburn University Water Resources Center is holding a free family-friendly Water Festival at the Davis E. Arboretum with water-related games and activities. Come meet local water conservation organizations like Alabama Water Watch\, Alabama Rivers Alliance\, and Coosa Riverkeeper. East Alabama Fly Fishing will have fly casting demonstrations and practice rods for kids. The Amsterdam food truck will have food and drinks available for purchase. \nThere will also be showings of the film “River Dreams” at 5:15 and again at 6:45. DESCRIPTION:Rhett Johnson served as the director of the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center managed by the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences. Additionally\, he co-founded of The Longleaf Alliance where he held positions as its president and board member. He has also served as chair of the Southeastern Society of American Foresters and president of the Alabama Wildlife Federation. \nJohnson earned a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in wildlife biology and a master’s in forest management from Clemson University. His professional interests and expertise include threatened and endangered species\, multiple-use forest management\, wildlife management\, fire ecology\, and longleaf pine management and restoration. \nThe event is open to the public via Zoom and will be live-streamed via the school’s Facebook page. \nThe “7 for 75 Speaker Series” features distinguished alumni and industry leaders representing an array of forestry\, wildlife and natural resource fields and enterprises who will cover a wide range of topics\, from land management to current and future technology to stakeholder engagement. \n

Farmers\, growers\, and artists who are interested in participating in the City Market must complete an\napplication and submit their Grower’s Permit to the Market Coordinator. Materials may be submitted in person at the Harris Center (425 Perry Street) or via email to the Market Coordinator. \n*COVID 19 note: All market visitors must maintain a minimum of 6 feet between one another. All vendors will follow the state sanitation guidelines regarding farmers markets:\n• Food samples will not be served\, and cooking demonstrations will not be allowed.\n• Vendors will maintain a 10-foot distance from one another.\n• All vendors will wear food safe serving gloves and will designate one worker to handle payment.\n• Face mask are required.

The Southeastern Raptor Center rehabilitates hundreds of injured\, ill\, and orphaned raptors annually.  The Center also houses a number of raptors that are non-releasable including those that will be present at the program. \nThis is a one-hour\, lecture-style program that will provide the opportunity to see and interact with live animals.
