DESCRIPTION:The International Cultural Center (ICC) in the Office of International Programs and the Women and Gender Studies Program are hosting a free lunch seminar to recognize International Women’s Day. The seminar will consist of a panel of Auburn University and community members in which the audience is encouraged to interact\, and a meal will be provided. \nIn addition to the celebration of International Women’s Day\, ICC’s Year of Indonesia will also be recognized through the appreciation of Indonesian artifacts and artwork. \nThe event will take place in Ballroom B in the Harold D. Melton Student Center from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our Spring 2024 Sustainability Speaker Series: – Climate Change: A Story of Opportunities and Possibilities to Reverse Global Warming with Dr. Jonathan Foley.  \nJonathan Foley\, Ph.D.\, Executive Director of Project Drawdown\, is a world-renowned environmental scientist\, sustainability expert\, author\, and public speaker. His work focuses on understanding our changing planet and finding new solutions to sustain the climate\, ecosystems\, and natural resources we all depend on.  \nDr. Foley will present on the innovative initiative Project Drawdown\, whose mission is to help the world stop climate change as quickly\, safely\, and equitably as possible.  Project Drawdown identifies solutions and strategies for stopping climate change\, engages all sectors of society to bring climate solutions to scale\, and works to shift the conversation from doom and gloom to possibility and opportunity.  Almost every solution identified by Project Drawdown is regenerative development that has the potential to create millions of jobs.  Project Drawdown proves we can stop global warming and draw down greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere to form a more sustainable world.  \nDr. Foley’s presents on Monday\, March 18th\, 2024\, in the Langdon Hall Auditorium at Auburn University starting at 7:00 PM. There will be time for questions and answers before wrapping up at 8:30 PM. Free parking is available downtown after 6:00 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Caroline Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities and Dr. Monte Randall at Pebble Hill for a talk regarding the history\, culture\, and contemporary life of the Muscogee Nation. Dr. Randall is the President of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and from the Apekv-Tvlledegv Tribal Town and Deer Clan. His list of achievements is extensive and includes\, but is not limited to\, being a Mellon and Aspen Fellow\, as well as a Carnegie Foundation Commissioner. He regularly volunteers as a community leader and also often educates on Native American culture\, education\, and more. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, and will occur on March 26 at 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
