SUMMARY:Jonathan Scott's Power Trip
DESCRIPTION:At Energy Alabama\, they don’t believe it’s too much to ask to be able to choose how you power your home and your life. Jonathan Scott agrees. You know him and his brother Drew as the Property Brothers. They’ve built\, bought\, and sold homes across North America for over 20 years. They’ve seen it all\, or so they thought. But\, when Jonathan installed solar on his own home\, he discovered the harsh reality of how far we have to go before we can truly have energy freedom. Thus began a journey across the country to uncover the truth. \nJonathan travels the country to examine the question of why isn’t solar available to all? Along the way he talks with conservatives fighting for solar freedom\, farmers struggling to make ends meet\, and coal workers desperate for a new\, healthy means of making an income. He visits with the Navajo Nation who built a utility-scale solar plant\, religious leaders making a desperate attempt to help meet their community’s energy needs\, and politicians at the forefront of the battle for energy freedom. \nEnergy Alabama will be co-hosting a Watch Party of Jonathan Scott’s new documentary – Power Trip\, along with Cilmate+Energy Project and Energy & Policy Institute. They’ll join together to watch the documentary then have an open discussion and Q&A about how Jonathan’s findings relate to our local communities and what we are doing about it.
