SUMMARY:Document Shredding Day
DESCRIPTION:Facilities Management will hold a document shredding day on October 13 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the loading dock of Facilities Management 8 at 1161 W. Samford Ave. (university departments only). \nAn approved Certificate of Records Destruction form is required for all shredding and must be submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled shredding date. Participating departments will be billed $3.50 per box for shredding. If pick-up is needed\, a labor fee will be charged\, or departments may drop off material to be shredded. \nCall Work Management at 334-844-HELP (4357) or submit a work order request online. SUMMARY:Weigh the Waste
DESCRIPTION:The Waste Reduction and Recycling Department will be at the Tiger Zone dish return station on October 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. for the Weigh the Waste event. During the event\, all post-consumer food waste from returned dishes will be collected and weighed. Every 15 minutes\, the amount of food waste generated will be displayed\, along with the cumulative total for the evening. Stop by for dinner and see firsthand how much food is wasted when we take more than we can eat. \nTo encourage waste reduction\, Tiger Dining will hold a drawing for 10 prizes of $25 in dining dollars. Students who return their plates with no food waste between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. will be entered for a chance to win. \nWeigh the Waste is a hands-on educational event that helps raise awareness about the amount of post-consumer food waste generated in campus dining halls and encourages more mindful food choices.

The film hits on themes that connect the human diet to athletic recovery and endurance\, aspects of human health\, environmental impacts\, and global health. \nThe Game Changers is directed by Oscar®-winning documentary filmmaker Louie Psihoyos and executive produced by James Cameron\, Arnold Schwarzenegger\, Jackie Chan\, Lewis Hamilton\, Novak Djokovic\, and Chris Paul. \nThe film screening is brought to you by the Office of Sustainability and the ASAP student group\, Allied Scholars for Animal Protection. \nArrive early for free popcorn & coco/tea. Guests should bring their own tailgate chairs or blanket to sit on and a mug for tea or coco.
