DESCRIPTION:Join the Southeastern Raptor Center at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center for a fantastic presentation. The Southeastern Raptor Center rehabilitates hundreds of injured\, ill\, and orphaned raptors annually.  The Center also houses a number of raptors that are non-releasable including those that will be present at the program. \nThis is a one-hour\, lecture-style program that will provide the opportunity to see and interact with live animals. Meet representatives from the cosponsors: Tiger Dining\, the Arboretum\, the Waste Reduction and Recycling Department\, Academic Sustainability Programs\, the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences\, and the Office of Sustainability.  \nThis no-waste event will feature local food and will be held at the south end of the Donald E. All vendors will follow the state sanitation guidelines regarding farmers markets:\n• Food samples will not be served\, and cooking demonstrations will not be allowed.\n• Vendors will maintain a 10-foot distance from one another.\n• All vendors will wear food safe serving gloves and will designate one worker to handle payment.\n• Face mask are required.

SUMMARY:Plant Ahead - Tree Planting Preparation
DESCRIPTION:The Kreher Preserve and Nature Center needs your help to remove invasive plants and sweetgum trees in order to prepare the area for an upcoming Tree Planting Event! These plants can hinder the growth of the native seedlings we will be planting in January. \nVolunteers should meet at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center parking lot. Work will begin at 1:00 PM and end at 3:00 PM\, however\, people can come and go as they please. Please wear long pants\, closed-toe shoes\, and gloves. Extra tools will be provided\, but volunteers are encouraged to bring pruners\, lopping shears\, and small pruning saws if available.
