Designed for kids in grades K – 8\, riders and their parents will get safety tips from experts and test their skills on mountain bike trails and paved trails. There will be free prizes and a raffle for some great bike equipment. Each child must have a guardian or parent registered. \nParticipants should pre-register on the Auburn Parks and Recreation Website by September 25th at 5:00 PM to receive a t – shirt. $15 per person.

DESCRIPTION:Join Auburn University’s College of Forestry\, Wildlife and Environment for their 2024 Fall Seminar Series featuring Dr. Gary E. Machlis as he talks on sustainability and social justice. Key aspects from his new book Sustainability for the Forgotten will be covered followed by a book signing and meet & greet. \nDr. Machlis is a  University Professor of Environmental Sustainability at Clemson University with an extensive background in sustainability efforts which include working with the U.S. National Park Service\, Interior’s Strategic Sciences Group\, and more. He has also helped extensively following large disasters including the Deepwater Horizon oil spill\, Hurricane Sandy\, and Haiti’s devastating earthquake.  \nFaculty\, students\, and the public are invited to attend this program. Advanced registration is not required. Refreshments will be available after the seminar. DESCRIPTION:The Gulf Scholars program includes a flexible and interdisciplinary curriculum. All classes count toward the minor in sustainability studies and various other programs on campus. Students will be invited to participate in co-curricular activities\, including field trips to the Gulf\, movie nights\, social events\, volunteer opportunities\, art gallery openings and change agentry workshops. Each student will be paired with a community partner to complete a sustainability project.
