SUMMARY:Walk @ Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Walk @ Lunch is one of several events planned for Employee Appreciation Week (April 24-28). Dozens of employees are expected to participate in one of the walks across campus. \nEach walk will take approximately 30 minutes. If you work off campus or in another county\, that’s OK. ACES offices and other off-campus units are encouraged to host their own events!\nWalk @ Lunch events are held annually across America. It’s a good reminder that a brisk\, 30-minute walk can help people:\n• Decrease the risk of heart attack and type 2 diabetes.\n• Maintain a healthy weight.\n• Improve muscle tone.\n• Reduce stress. \nIf you would like to share photos from your respective event\, just email univhr@auburn.edu or post them to social media with the #auappreciate

SUMMARY:Hey Day
DESCRIPTION:Dating all the way back to 1947\, students who served in WWII were returning back to normalcy here at Auburn University\, but upon their return\, they felt unseen and unheard here on campus. In response\, Auburn University’s student body and members of the Student Government Association pushed for a day that would unite the Auburn Family and promote a friendly atmosphere known as Hey Day – a day where every student got the opportunity to wear a name tag\, helping everyone feel a sense of belonging. \nEach year\, they carry on this tradition by handing out name tags and encouraging students\, faculty\, and the rest of the Auburn Family to greet one another\, bringing all members of Auburn closer together. Hey Day has become one of Auburn University’s longest\, most cherished traditions and is a day the student body has grown to love and look forward to each year. \nSGA looks forward to engaging the Auburn Family by distributing name tags and handing out Hey Day-branded promotional items. Furthermore\, SGA will also be hosting a festive event on the Campus Green for all to enjoy\, so they invite everyone to join them for a free\, catered meal\, a pep rally performed by the Auburn University Marching Band\, an inflatable obstacle course\, and many special guests. They can’t wait to see you all there!
