SUMMARY:Crank Down at Tigertown
DESCRIPTION:Crank Down in Tigertown will take place in the Chewacla State Park on April 17-18\, 2021. \nThe course at this park will use a combination of tight and twisty single track and wide dirt roads to test the racer’s fitness and bike handling skills.  The seemingly flat course is deceiving as the constant up/down results in 381 feet of elevation gain per HS lap. \nSpectators bring your noisemakers because as the trail meanders through the woods\, there are several opportunities to see the race unfolding from your seats in the infield area. Don’t let the lap distances fool you\, lap times on this course will be on par with other\, longer courses this season.

SUMMARY:Education Special: Teaching Sustainability in Sport
DESCRIPTION:This April\, honor the 50th anniversary of Earth Day with the Green Sports Alliance and the <a href='https://www.sportecology.org/' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'>Sport Ecology Group</a> during a webinar series throughout the month!\nAll <a href='https://www.youtube.com/user/greensportsalliance' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'>webinar recordings</a> will be publicly available online. \nDavid Orr\, founder of <a href='https://350.org/' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'>350.org</a> once argued that the environmental crisis is fundamentally a crisis of education. If more people understood the natural environment\, its current and expected future challenges\, and their relationship to the environment\, perhaps minds and behaviors would change. Sport ecology has emerged as a promising inroad for sport management professors to frame ‘grand challenges’ discussions in undergraduate and graduate coursework. In this webinar\, experienced professors will discuss their approaches to teaching sport ecology content in general sport management classes\, and strategies for creating stand-alone sport ecology coursework.\n<p style='text-align: center;'><a href='https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/6502143836096885516' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'><strong>REGISTER HERE</strong></a></p>\n<strong>Moderator:</strong> Walker Ross | Florida Southern College\n<strong>Speakers:</strong>\nDr. Jonathan Casper | North Carolina State University\nBrian McCullough | Seattle University / The Sport Ecology Group\nDr. Sylvia Trendafilova | University of Tennessee at Knoxville \n
