SUMMARY:Black Belt Treasures Virtual Holiday Market
DESCRIPTION:The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities will offer a virtual holiday market at aub.ie/bbt. \nAttendees will learn about artists in the Black Belt region of Alabama and have an opportunity to purchase holiday gifts on the Black Belt Treasures website. Featured artists for the day will include Andrew McCall\, “Vines and Branches” baskets\, barn-wood churches and angels; Sam Williams\, functional pottery; Betty Anderson\, Gee’s Bend soaps and dolls; Laura Spencer\, soaps\, candles\, and skin care products; and Bud Rogers\, wooden lathe turned ornaments\, trees and gift products. Online participants will enter a raffle for a free gift during the program. \nBlack Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center in a non-profit organization based in Camden\, Alabama\, and serves as the centerpiece of an arts economy revitalization involving artist development and arts education\, encouraging residents and visitors to experience arts\, culture and place. \nThe event will stream live on the Draughon Center’s Facebook page.
