SUMMARY:Poster Presentations on Climate Extremes\, Change\, & Resilience in the Print News Media
DESCRIPTION:This 12th annual poster symposium on the ways in which the print news media portrays climate change\, climate extremes\, and climate resilience. Please the join students in Sociology of Natural Resources and Environment (RSOC 5650/6650) who will present the findings of their multidisciplinary\, semester-long\, research projects serving as their final exam. Sub-topics of the five posters address the impacts on public health\, marginalized communities\, infrastructure\, marine life\, and carbon capture.\nThis symposium is an important opportunity for students to present their research to a broad audience. And\, importantly\, your interaction with the students greatly enhances the professional development aspects of this project. The 2020 class includes a multidisciplinary group: a graduate student from Public Administration\, and undergraduates from Biomedical Sciences\, Environmental Design\, Natural Resource Management\, Global Studies\, and Interdisciplinary Studies\, who are seeking minors in Urban Environmental Sciences\, Natural Resources Ecology\, Sustainability Studies\, History\, Military Science\, Nature Based Recreation\, Spanish\, Watershed Sciences\, Geography\, and Rural and Community Development. \nThis program has been funded by an NSF Research Traineeship program grant\, with the goal of training graduate students in climate resilience communication. \nThis symposium will take place via Zoom. https://auburn.zoom.us/j/97985091516
